Workshop Community Coordination and Communication (Track Lead: C Gater and S Andreozzi) Communities and Communication

Speaker

Claire Devereux (STFC)

Summary

The aims of this workshop are to bring together the champions from different projects, as well as the organisers of those schemes, to
- provide insight into what EGI has to offer
- learn from Champions from established programmes about their experiences
- give the Champions an opportunity to shape a policy paper of how to engage with new communities and drive the agendas of resource providers

Description

The workshop has three parts:

Informing:
What Champions programmes exist?
What are the e-infrastructure resources available to users?

Supporting:
What are the user support services available in the major projects?
How do you get access?

Influencing:
How can Champions assist other users?
How can we influence e-Infrastructure providers and drive their agenda as Users?

The workshop will include talks from Champions from a number of new and existing schemes and discussion sessions.

During the middle coffee break you are encouraged to "Meet the Champions" at the EGI Stand in the coffee area.

The output of this workshop will be a paper shaped by the audience about how to engage with new communities and to drive the agendas of resource providers

Impact

This workshop will
- provide information to the audience including new champions

  • give the champions an opportunity to help shape a policy about engaging with new communities
