Summary
CVMFS was selected as the preferred method of software distribution for FGI, the Finnish Grid Infrastructure in 2011. How well does it work on a scale much smaller than the WLCG projects?
Description
After testing and procrastination the grid crew at CSC in Finland decided on using CVMFS for software distribution for the then coming FGI (Finnish Grid Infrastructure). We had new hardware, and no legacy systems to support, easing the decision to go for an still quite untried solution. Our solution works with a very light infrastructure very different from the heavy solution CERN has in place.
