Minutes from 4th VT ELIXIR meeting

Kalle Happonen (CSC) presented situation of Elixir related activities in the Finland. In brief:

Organisation through Biomedinfra.fi (ELIXIR and IT people) setup 2010:
* IT through CSC (NREN, NGI, HPC) and virtual machines (OpenNebula)
* many ELIXIR activities

CSC run NGI called FGI, but it has no role in national ELIXIR project (no resources for ELIXIR), because of
* complicated software needs user's control
* integration is complicated
* FGI is more CPU power oriented

Well known issues of ELIXIR project: more RAM per core and more storage space needed.

They are interesed in EGI virtualization activities.
