CLOUD ===== ACTION1: need of coordination between market places, one market place which is open, advertize all services (e.g. also HelixNebula even if not supporting OCCI or CDMI). ACTION2: discuss a collaboration with GEANT, public European cloud infrastructure, different customer segments. AAI (eduGAIN) and Software defined networks. See also NET+ from Internet2 consortium ACTION3: Cloud for Europe collaboration, participate to tenders, new procurement approaches to cloud (new legal framework for public institutions). Check project and discuss possible joint activities. ACTION4: define business model of EGI Federated Cloud resource providers and EGI.eu and availability of resources ACTION5: market place development, user community services how to market that. ACTION6: brokering coupling data repositories and computation for processing of data ACTION7: explore urgent computing service in the portfolio (clear process for doing this) ACTION8: Investigate federated cloud activities and relevant to the European testbed for innovative ITC- individual data centres to join, open standards, open stack - Future "ware" initiatives. https://www.fi-xifi.eu/ Meeting in Oxford EVOLVING EGI DATA MANAGEMENT, PRESERVATION, CURATION SERVICES ======================================================= ACTION1- consider the involvement of EGI in RDA ACTION2- which PID infrastructure to integrate with when hosting services that require PID instantiation and resolution (EPIC, DOI ...), to investigate PID translation services that allow to use many of them ACTION3- new possible service for EGI: support in data management planning. Data management planning skills, possibly in partnership with DCC.AC.UK (connected to international activities) ACTION4- investigate how to support hosting of open data pilots in cooperation with OpenAIRE, for small collaboration and perhaps also as temporary solution until a data preservation plan is defined. RCs would benefit from EGI brokering ACTION5- investigate data preservation services and data curation services for user communities, collaboration with APARSEN, develop servicce provisioning model ACTION6- EGI should federate data (host catalogues and make data accessible): identification and registration are the key points ACTION7- Collaboration with EUDAT. Data management interoperability, analysis with EUDAT ACTION8- Develop use cases of data and compute integration services ACTION9- study ESFRI cluster paper on e-infrastructure integraiton, map EGI use cases and solution to the requirements. Realising the full potential of research data: challenges in sharing and integration across scientific disciplines ACTION10: identify EGI flagship communities for data integration AAI === REQUIREMENT a) Federation of identity providers (IdP), service providers (SP) and attribute providers (AP), and scalable policies and frameworks. IdP are already federated, and in Europe there are federations of federations such as EduGain. But for many use cases there is need of a direct negotiation among IdP and SP, and the AP add a third dimension to the mesh of agreements that is necessary. There is need for a commonly accepted code of conduct requested to all the service providers participating to the e-infrastructures that could be used to allow IdP to release credentials to SP without further bureaucracy. Federations should enable mutual trust among IdP and SP. --> EGI EUDAT AND PRACE TO DEVELOP A COMMON SET OF POLICIES and federate REQUIREMENT b) Need to identify a core set of requirements and policies from the e-infrastructures in order to understand what is really needed from IdP and AP. REQUIREMENT c) Attributes are the key factor for user authorization. European e-infrastructures need to provide a common attribute provisioning framework to be used by both SP and user communities. REQUIREMENT d) A possible implementation can be a mesh of attribute authorities and credentials translation Actions ACTION 1. Draft the possible architecture of the Attribute Authorities network –How the mesh should be composed –How it plugs in the user authentication and authorization process ACTION 2. Explore the available policies for attribute releasing –(e.g. research and scholarship category) –Use them as a starting point to discuss with SP and UC ACTION 3. Identify the relevant partners Create a mailing list including contacts from: EGI (NGIs..), PRACE, (EUDAT), SARA, TERENA, etc First meeting in January e-INFRASTRUCTURE =============== - positive feedback on common strategies around user support including training. Integration at a European level follows integration activities at a national level that are already in progress - security coordination and related services is the first area of integration to attempt, besides the deployment of interoperable core services - ACTION1: follow on meeting, January - ACTION2: technical analysis of use cases EGI-EUDAT
