Federated Cloud User Support Teleconference 30 June 2014 from 15:00 to 17:00 (Ams time) Participants: Diego Scardaci Gergely Sipos Boro Jakimovski Daniele Lezzi Fabio Capannini Izhar ul Hassan (PDC site admin) Joao Pina Malgorzata Krakowian Marios Chatziangelou Nuno Ferreira Roksana Rózanska (Cyfronet) Notes: - Instructions for VO Managers (community representatives) * Automate the process as much as possible (needs clear instructions and manuals on the website). * Has to be written - Boris? - Make support processes repeatable by the NGIs * Establish in the Wiki a 'Guidebook for Federated Cloud user support teams' * Based on Diego's S3-5. Include instructions where necessary (e.g. S4: Test the site before sending the user there - How?) * Highlight the need for registering Use Cases in the Wiki - Use cases - Inform the respective NGI User Support Team about the cases, so they can support and follow these up where needed - High level tools - status of manuals? Can someone review these? - Technical activities (e.g. testing) - invite DCC members - Prepare an updated User workflow slide and put this to the user Wiki page * Based on Gergely's slide - Malgorzata to review the VO Creation Procedure after the EGI-InSPIRE review. This will simplify and extend the process for the cloud - Use case for eGrant: Ask for resources to establish a VO. * Has to be approved by David, then put into the eGrant system * All allocations to go through eGrant --> every certified site should be in eGrant - Cyfronet team works on an extension to allocate resources inside the VO for a VA * Marios and Roksana to discuss how this could be used in the user workflow and report back at the next meeting - The first version of contextualisation is under review by Diego, Salvatore. Depending on their feedback the feature will be finalised (1+month). - Review/improve the user workflow file - Storage service to consolidate, then add a high level interface similar to Dropbox --> Potential work in EGI-Engage - CDMI is 'just' a proxy interface to a storage - Gergely & Diego: * Define the system for tracking cloud requirements so all support teams' requirements would come together * Setup an email list and a Wiki section for the FedCloud User Support working group Joao: - Our site is under certification. Once finished will be open for local and regional users, and depending on available effort also for multi-national . Izhar: - We already have a certified site - a small cloud with openNebula which supports EGI and then we have our main infrastructure which is based on OpenStack. We are now planning to kill the OpenNebula part and move everything on OpenStack. We will be taking part in the support for new use cases Boro: - Can get involved in some local and regional use cases --> Diego to involve them in use cases (they have an OpenNebula site) Fabio Capannini: - I am working on an openstack infrastructure here at CNAF. I could provide support for this kind of infrastructure and also provide support for new use-cases. Daniele Lezzi: - Superscalar framework adopted to FedCloud
