Action concerning VM image management - mail sent to people involved in that task. Status reports --------------- VM management - Boris. ----------------------- OCCI 1.2 is nearing public comments phase, it has not been offically published yet, Boris will announce when it is. Would like to organise a call concerning the capabilities of the current OCCI. Will what we have be compatible with 1.2? Enol - Should be compatible with 1.2 Implementating 1.2 in EGI federated cloud - very practical reasoning which ties into accounting. What is the implementation status? For rOCCI - will be included in next release. EGI and sites - formalizing the OLA - profile implementation? Then there was a discussion on whether all sites must in future be OCCI compatible? We think this is necessary, thought that was the requirement. This needs to be decided by NGIs during the OMB. Do they want to have sites not supporting OCCI? OMB not the right place? Policy decision in the Council? In the process of making the decision, discussing can be outside. Thought that OCCI must be supported, and stated in OLA. The current mode of operation is that standards support is required as part of the OLAs. OCCI will be the priority interface in the cloud. Supported by EGI Engage. Everything needs to be user driven, users need a standard interface. Continue to push/promote standards based solutions. Bit like gLite - now have unicore, globus. We are here to support users. Plan to discuss further off line, a separate meeting will be arranged if needed. Data management ---------------- Kostas - Upgrade to CDMI 1.2? In charge CDMI implementation - Bjorn will look at it, will not be able to do it due to availability. Accounting ---------- SP - Currently 22 sites are reporting. 2 sites not appearing in portal. KTH closed in gocdb. KISTI is the second site who has published cloud accounting but isn't registered in GOCDB. There are several KISTI sites registered in GOCDB but not with the simple name KISTI. 3 sites not properly reporting to the VO? These have not upgraded the script. Small amount of overreporting in Portugal(?) investigating why. Possibly something to do with summarizing over month boundry. Several sites not reporting wall time = CP time. This will be followed up. Long running VM? Last proposal was not workable. Thinking about it and working on it. Tickets should be opened to sites which are not reporting correctly. Monitoring ---------- Emir Imamagic During last 3 wks CDMI probe was being investigated. Will update later. (Been on holiday and not yet had chance to check.) VM image management ------------------- Owen. Strong recommendation to upgrade to new VMcatcher which supports unicode. Upgrade does requires a new version sql lite. Upgrade procedure is in the notes sent to mailing list. README includes upgrade procedure. It is reasonably straightforward to upgrade. Expect near future a new version of VMcastor. Own's Certificate has expired, Jens helping him sort it. Contacted by Zoltan ? Image he wants distributed, wondering why it is not distributed in the federated cloud. Probably a process issue rather than technical issue. Owen is happy to answer any questions on upgrading. Enol - Some sites have already upgraded. Networking - Zdenek -------------------- In the design phase? (didn't catch all this) Action on Enol to provide wiki space for Newtworking scenario. Security - Linda ----------------- SVG - issue handling procedure is being revised, including to cope with cloud technology. As there are quite a few bits of software which SVG members know little about, it would be good to someone who e.g. deploys some software to agree to be the expert we can contact. I.e. to agree to this role. Agreed this is sensible. (Alvaro has already looked at and commented on Xen.) Info discovery - Peter S ------------------------- No progress due to holidays and other commitments. Operational status and issues. ------------------------------ Certification of OpenNebula - Boris? Installation ready? (broke up a bit) Certification? Or someone else. Boris is using an existing site - not much to do to except check it is working as it should. No real problems, needs to go to several different places where documentation was previosuly, move it all into the right place, and check that the information is up to date. Kostas - needs to check how to support ? VO? User Community - Diego Scardaci -------------------------------- Looking for a site willing to support certain use cases - last week had a meeting with ?? Some issue with proxy for some use cases? Diego is going to write a short article for egi newsletter about collaboration with ? to support use cases. Peter - add beside pilot contacted site which during egi engage preparation offered pilot? Storage testbed was presented at OMB. Build testbed for federation capabilities - used for e.g. Human Brain project. AOB. Human brain project - if interested in suporting this please contact Peter S.
