Present - Lukasz Dutka (LD) Björn Hagemeier (BH) Olivier Amblet (OA) Matthew Viljoen (MV) Apologies - Catherine Zwahlen (CZ) - After the last meeting, Michaël Dupont provided a version of ATLASViewer which can be run against arbitrary image servers. MV reported that he had deployed ATLASViewer on two VMs on the EGI fedcloud; one pointing to the image server with data at dCache/DESY and the other pointing to the image server with data at OneData/Cyfronet. The addresses are: http://155.210.198.204/ (OneData) http://155.210.198.214/ (dCache) Michaël Dupont later confirmed that the performance was similar to the viewer running on HBP infrastructure. - LZ reported that the Cyfronet team had tested with multiple image server Dockers load balanced with NGINX, with 10 image server instances appearing to be optimal. The resulting performance boost meant that approx. 10 concurrent users can now achieve the target of <1s for serving 8 tiles. There does appear to be more room for NGINX optimization and the Cyfronet team will continue experimenting. It was agreed that the dCache team should also look at load balancing to achieve a similar performance boost, either based on Cyfronet's NGINX configuration or a new configuration from scratch. -> MV to talk to Christian Bernhardt about deploying load balancing - CZ had told MV that the her team now have access to a larger image stack in raw format and they are working to process the data to transform the stack in the format read by the image service. This will help with scalability testing of the pilot. - OA said that progress was being made on OpenID Connect to secure access to the datasets and integrate the pilot with HBP accounts, but that a fully working solution probably won't be ready by the end of January. However, OA can provide a test client to enable us to do some preliminary integration with the pilot. -> MV to add OA to the mailing list and provide contact details -> OA to send LD,MV a test client to demonstrate interoperability with HBP instance of OpenID Connect - MV and Tiziana Ferrari are arranging a meeting with Sean Hill to discuss and agree upon the concrete outputs of the pilot that are should be delivered by the next funding period of HBP (from Apr '16) in addition to more details required to write a cost model for deploying and running HBP services on EGI infrastructure.
