Write-up of the second EGI/HBP teleconference between Catherine Zwahlen, Lukasz Dutka and myself today, regarding trialling EGI infrastructure by HBP via a demo of hosting a sample dataset and visualization application running on EGI infrastructure Present - Catherien Zwahlen (CZ) and Matthew Viljoen (MV) Apologies - Lukasz Dutka (LD) - CZ had had some problems logging onto INFN to transfer the data. During the meeting, MV worked with CZ to resolve the problems and CZ is now able to logon and will start to transfer the <1TB of data to INFN. - CZ reported that the HBP team have been able to recompile the Docker file with visualization software. However, it is unable to access data files on external storage. At present, it can only use an 'embedded' data file that has been compiled along with the application. The HBP team is working to fix this, but in the meantime we agreed that we will try to deploy a version of the Docker file version with the embedded data file at INFN to avoid further delays. CZ will put MV and LD in touch with Samuel Kerrien to assist with deploying the software - MV had spoken with Christian Bernardt from DESY Hamburg who suggested we ask for more information about the docker file requirements, including data access speeds to storage. CZ confirmed that fast data access is required to the storage. HBP infrastructure supports 1GB/s at present. CZ asked for other questions be sent via email and Samuel will help answer. MV will forward info to vt-feddata list for further discussion. - MV reiterated to CZ that our plans are to ensure that the HBP visualization software can run at multiple sites accessing different local storage (e.g. CEPH at INFN, dCache, ...) and we will investigate ways of federating the data across sites.
