EGI-EUDAT: ICOS Use case - 16 June 2016 Attendees: EGI: Enol, Matthew, Diego EUDAT: Dejan ICOS: Ute, Margareta, Oleg, Mitch * Ute shortly described the use case * Status of the pilot: - Ute successfully tested the creation of a VM with Docker on the FedCloud. She setup a docker container and performed computation using data manually copied in the VM. * Discussion on some point of the documents: - AAI: agreed on the suggested model (using a robot certificate to interact with EGI-EUDAT infras). Further integration between ICOS and EGI/EUDAT AAI could be considered in the future - Testing the communication channel between EGI/EUDAT - Testing the ODP/OneData to share data between VMs - Load balancing questions and permanent IP address. Now, LB is needed mainly for fault tolerance. ICOS needs an image with the OS, NGINX and Docker installed. - Tools for automatically creating/destroying VMs according to workload - Data provisioning: how new data will be upload in the system * Agreed action plan: Priorities: - Testing the communication channel between EGI/EUDAT Ute will start some test using the work done by Diego for the EGI-EUDAT integration pilot. Documentation is available here: https://appdb.egi.eu/store/swappliance/egi.eudat.integration.pilot @Ute: please, check the documentation and come back to me for any questions. There is a contextualisation script linked to the test software appliance that you can re-use for your VM. - Testing the ODP/OneData to share data between VMs Diego will produce some simple documentation - Load balancing questions and permanent IP address Diego, Enol and Matthew will discuss internally and propose a solution Other actions: - Tools for automatically creating/destroying VMs according to workload Solutions compliant with the EGI FedCloud to be evaluated: 1) EC3 http://servproject.i3m.upv.es/ec3/ 2) Occupus http://occopus.lpds.sztaki.hu/ - Data provisioning: to be discussed later Next meeting: 28 June 15-16:30 CEST
