The demo will showcase the work of the EUBra-BIGSEA( http://www.eubra-bigsea.eu ), a project funded in the third coordinated call Europe – Brazil focused on the development of advanced QoS services for Big Data applications, demonstrated through a use case in the context of the Massive Connected Societies. EUBra-BIGSEA is developing a QoS architecture that predicts resource consumption of Big Data Analytics applications in order to pre-allocate and dynamically adjust virtualized infrastructures. EUBra-BIGSEA leverages mixed horizontal and vertical elasticity on hybrid container and VM infrastructures to support a complex Data Analytic framework powered by OPHIDIA, COMPSs and Spark, which will be enriched with these capabilities. EUBra-BIGSEA is an API-oriented project, speaking to service and application developers as well as data scientists, coming from both public as well as private sector. Furthermore the project and its outputs showcase how Europe and Brazil can progress together towards joint technological approaches and reach consensus on future standards thus guaranteeing a minimum level of interoperability and portability thus supporting collaboration and knowledge exchange in Europe and beyond.

For DEMO abstracts only: technical requirements

Demonstrations of the project outcomes are also available, covering clustered or individually the EUBra-BIGSEA Integrated fast and Big Data cloud platform, Programming abstractions layer, Quality of Service Cloud Infrastructure or the Security provisioning and assurances. The EUBra-BIGSEA multi-tier system, is best illustrated though via the application "routes for the people" developed in the context of the project to pilot and demonstrate integration between different components developed under the project umbrella.
