## Description ## As the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is taking shape a number of thematic or community oriented services will be introduced into the EOSC marketplace this will imply that services will need to be available on demand 24/7. In order to ensure quality of service(s)/SLA one will need to monitor for the end-users point of view. ARGO is a lightweight service for Service Level Monitoring designed for medium and large sized Research Infrastructures. It monitors services by emulating typical user scenarios (e.g for a file server ARGO will try to create/upload and to download/delete a file) that allows to derive the quality of service the actual user gets. The goal of the system is to mimic the actual end user behaviour without requiring special privileges or special configurations from the service provider side. As a result ARGO offers near to real-time status updates which allow both end-users and site admins to have an overview of the service offered at any given point in time. A notification service that is able to notify an administrator close to real-time a service is failing allows service providers to identify and solve any possible issues with their service as soon as its detected. ARGO also offers the ARGO Messaging Service, which implements the Google PubSub protocol. It provides an HTTP API that enables Users/Systems to implement message oriented service using the Publish/Subscribe Model over plain HTTP. A notification service ready to notify an administrator near real-time a service is failing, allows service providers to identify and solve any possible issues with their service as soon as its detected. The Messaging Service provides an HTTP API that enables Users/Systems to implement message oriented service using the Publish/Subscribe Model.
