NGIs and ROCs (status update, 27 July 2010)

- Central Europe ROC [courtesy of M.Radecki and M.Krakowian]: stops operations by 01 August. The last NGI to be migrated is Austria. Its two production sites will be hosted for 1 year by NGI NDGF.

- March 31: NGI_PL
- June 2010:  NGI_SI (Slovenia, 07 June), NGI_HR (Croatia, 10 June), NGI_CZ and SK (14 June)
- July 26: NGI_BY Belarus and NGI_HU

-  ROC SEE [courtesy of K.Koumantaros] Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, FYR of Macedonia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro that were part of the SEE-GRID-SCI project were joined EGEE-SEE-ROC in April in order to have their corresponding sites registered in EGEE (now EGI) infrastructure and the corresponding monitoring and accounting tools. 
- 22 April: NGI_GRNET took over operations for GREECE on 22nd of April 
- 16 June: NGI_AEGIS that took over operations for Serbia 
- by 01 Aug: NGI_TR is already in the final stages of the NGI Migration-Integration procedure and is expected to take over operations for Turkey before the end of July 2010. 
- by 01 Sep: NGI_BG for Bulgaria, NGI_ARMGRID for Armenia and NGI_IL for Israel have already started the migration procedures and are expected to take over operations for their corresponding countries by September 1st.   The remaining NGIs in SEE are expected to be independent in the next 6 months.

- ROC SWE: stops operations by the end of July 2010

- ROC Africa: discussion of at the EGI Council level about the integration of NGIs from the Mediterranean basin into EGI. Plans about the creation of  ROC Africa, which could include:
.  MA-01-CNRST National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST) 
Morocco (formerly hosted by EGEE SWE ROC) now in suspended status
. South Africa (ready to join)
.  SN-UCAD Université Cheik Anta Diop, Dakar Senegal (now uncertified, in NGI France)
. countries from Eumedgrid support project: Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Giordania, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Syria
