EGI's Gergely Sipos will deliver an on-line training presentation for Champions via Webex. The session should last in the order of 60 to 90 minutes depending on the level of questions, interaction and discussion that follow the formal presentation. Slides will be shared via Webex - they will also be added to this Indico container prior to the session.
The presentation will provide an overview about the EGI community and about the services it offers for scientific communities and research infrastructures. The talk will clarify the role of the various stakeholders within EGI (such as EGI-InSPIRE, EGI.eu, NGIs), and it will describe the various capabilities (such as computing, storage, collaboration & operation services) that these stakeholders integrate and provide. Emerging EGI technologies, such as the EGI Federated Cloud, will be also introduced.
The aim of this session is to equip Champions with an understanding of the fundamentals of EGI so that they in turn can better promote the benefits of using its infrastructure and services.
