Notes of EISCAT CC teleconference
29/01/2016

Chair and note taker: Gergely Sipos

DIRAC pilot setup:
- EISCAT VO is now connected to the DIRAC4EGI setup. Everyone who wants to access the setup needs to join the EISCAT VO.
- Next actions:
1. Setup a dedicated DIRAC file catalogue in DIRAC (this is where the metadata is stored). This would be a new DB in the MySQL server hosted by CYFRONET. - No response from CYFRONET recently. Gergely to contact them. (DIRAC contact: Hubert Siejkowski <h.siejkowski@cyfronet.pl>)
2. Create a file server on a new machine at EISCAT, with a subset of the EISCAT data (which is in total 60-70 TB). --> Carl-Fredrik and Andrei
    * Decide about the server itself (Scientific Linux 6 or CENTOS 6?; Server certificate)
    * Decide about the subset of files to include in the file server
    * Decide about best file hierarchy (this can be optimised in an iterative way in the future)
    * Decide about metadata schema based on data specification work done in the CC. (this can be optimised in an iterative way in the future)
3. Create script to populate the file server and file catalogue according to the chosen hierarchy and metadata schema --> Andrei, Victor

Access to  EISCAT data is currently possible with HTTP:
Access of archived data: http://www.eiscat.se/schedule/schedule.cgi   -> select Archived data
Access to analysed data: https://www.eiscat.se/madrigal/
NB archive checks that IP address is from a member country, otherwise blocks access, Madrigal is open to registered users.

Deliverable document (google doc):
- We need a complete draft by the end of next week. External review to start on the 8th of Feb. We need external reviewers from the EISCAT community (outside of the CC). Send reviewer contacts to Gergely.Sipos@egi.eu.
- Next actions:
1. Anders, Ingemar, Yin --> Complete the introduction (outline in the document)
2. Gergely to get hold of the NEIC documents from John White and see what can be used from these, particularly about the dataflow.
3. Gergely to expand the section about the prototype based on the outcome of this meeting.
4. Gergely/Yin to integrate content from external document as appropriate about the Data model.

Next meeting:
Friday the 5th of Feb. Yin to send a reminder about the meeting and about skype contact confirmation to the partners.
