(CB), Jeff Muller (JM), Huanxiang Lu (HL), Matthew Viljoen (MV)
Apologies -
- CZ introduced Huanxiang Lu who has recently joined the HBP team and will
be working with EGI on the pilot.
- LD reported further cases of instability of instability of the multiple
dockers when running under load. Tweaks have been made to the docker
configuration and they are monitoring whether the latest setup is more
stable. JM said that the file system driver dependences of the imaging
software are complicated and such instability has been known to appear
after updating kernels. This highlights the need of a proper testing
infrastructure in place which is used to thoroughly test any security
updates prior to production rollout.
->LD to continue monitoring his instance under load for stability
- CB reported that their F5 load balanced instance in front of dCache is
running well, and like Cyfronet, believes that the increase in users that
can be served under the target time is from 2 to 20, thanks to load
balancing.
- CB also reported on their command line tester that they have developed,
which makes use of the Protractor framework, for testing AngularJS
applications. This tester can simulate real users simultaneously using
an ATLASViewer instance and is capable of zooming and panning images:
https://github.com/chrber/hbp-atlas-viewer-test
CB said that 4 concurrent had have been tested so far using this tester.
- JM reported that due to many security dependencies, OpenID Connect
couldn't be released as an incremental update by the end of Jan as
originally planned. The team is now working to the end of Feb for a major
update that will enable us to incorporate OpenID Connect into HBP services
running on EGI. There is no possibility of creating a test user account
for us in the meantime due to HBP policy restrictions.
-> JM to aim for an OpenID Connect release at the end of Feb
- CZ said that a new image dataset of ~300GB has been processed and is
ready to be transferred to EGI. HBP have also reached an agreedment with
partners to share a larger (>1TB) dataset and have its primary location on
EGI.
->CZ to arrange for transfer of these bigger datasets to EGI.
- MV said that an HBP/EGI management meeting would be taking place later
today where the success criteria of the pilot would be agreed and the
specifics of a cost model for running HBP services on EGI as required by
the HBP would be discussed:
