1. Use Cases

A. Marine Metagenomics (Kimmo)

- Meta PIPE developers are finalising a script to launch virtual cluster environment in the OpenStack cloud of CSC. This tool will be soon available in their GitHub site (https://github.com/elixir-marine/mmg-cluster-setup)

- Kostas:Genet has set up similar virtual clusters (Orka https://escience.grnet.gr/static/mkdocs/site/introduction/index.html & https://github.com/grnet/e-science )

B. Insyght (Bedri)

- Stratus lab images have been converted for testing in OpenStack. 
- Next set will be adding the image to AppDB

C. cBioPortal (Miroslav)

- no progress

D. PhenoMenal (Amelie)

- EBI is porting PhenoMeNal applications so that they can be launched using Terraform
- git repository in:
  https://github.com/phnmnl/phenomenal-h2020/wiki/Deploying-PhenoMeNal-on-OpenStack
- Enol Fernandez will continue integrating Terraform to EGI Federated Cloud once he is back.
- also some work done in Cesnet

 

Jet Stream (Rob Quick)

- Jet Stream is now in production
- now more resources for EGI work
- next step is definition of EGI compatibke VMs.

 

2. Other issues

- CSC and SurfSara should continue their efforts to join Elixir VO.
- VO is accessed through ELIXIR  accounts.

 

3. Coming Events

Peter Hollup is organizing cloud session (Corbell) graz workshop sprng 2017: data in privacy and cloud in biomed.
