Workshop Community Coordination and Communication (Track Lead: C Gater and S Andreozzi) Communities and Communication

Speakers

John Towns Steven Newhouse (EGI.EU)

Description

Introduction and scene setting followed by presentations of Common Use Cases. Conclude 1st session with discussion of strategies to support collaborating teams; identify potential discussion topics at XSEDE'13. 2nd session to look at more operational issues including items such as Architecture and Engineering Processes, Operations and Champions Programmes.

Summary

Steven Newhouse (EGI.eu) and John Towns (XSEDE) will lead a workshop that will seek to identify and record a range of "common use cases". This will be a double session of 2 x 90 min. Further details to follow.

Impact

The session will result in a range of agreed "common use cases" that describe areas and uses of the grid that are common for both organisations. Such use cases will serve to demonstrate the value of the infrastructures and reinforce the arguments in support for researchers to use the infrastructure and for funders to support the coordinating organisations (ie EGI and Xsede).
