- OpenData platform was presented by LD, MV
- NS presented the BILS usecase. BILS (Bioinformatics Infrastructure for Life Sciences) is a distributed national research infrastructure supported by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) providing bioinformatics support to life science researchers in Sweden. There are tools which need access to some 400GB of data distributed across a number of VMs (5-10). Mostly Read-Only access is required. Ideally, access speeds should be the same as reading data locally. Data is text-based and all data is open and public.
- BILS has been using the Fedcloud since last year. An SLA is in place, INFN-Bari and a site in France provide resources. They would be interested in using the OpenData platform to enable federated access to their data. They are interested in http-based data access (S3/CDMI) rather than POSIX, which aligns well with what the OpenData platform can provide.
-> NS will work through OneData turorial over coming weeks and DS/MV will try to arrange OneData storage at INFN-Bari for hosting pilot BILS data.
-> DS, MV will arrange for the OneData server to be installed at INFN-Bari with a view to enabling OpenData access to BILS VMs at this site.
DOTM will be in March sometime
