Welcome to the first EGI InSPIRE SA1 meeting. This meeting is primarily of interest to partners responsible of running EGI Global Tasks (O-E-*) and to NGI Operations Managers, but it's open to NGI staff that will contribute to EGI-InSPIRE SA1 activities in other functions. The meeting will provide an overview of the EGI InSPIRE Project with a focus on operations, will be an opportunity to discuss the mandate of boards relevant to EGI Operations and the SA1 governance model, and to review the status and plans of both EGI Global Tasks and NGI International Tasks. Travel Directions to Sciencepark 105 1098 XG Amsterdam (see also instructions at: https://www.egi.eu/about/contact/directions.html) * Travel By Car: Consult your favorite routeplanner. Until June 2010, please note that the Kruislaan Tunnel is closed to cars; this means that you must approach the Science Park from the Carolina MacGillavrylaan, which can be accessed from the Molukkenstraat. * From Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol): Take the train from the airport to Centraal Station. TRAIN timetables: http://www.ns.nl/cs/Satellite/travellers Once at the Centraal station get a 'Sprinter Train' to Amsterdam Science Park. There are many trains from the airport. From Centraal station there is a train at 18 and 48 mins past the hour (normally platform 13b - but check) and the journey takes 8 mins to the stop (Science Park) followed by a short minute walk under the bridge to the Science Park entrance. A more adventurous way (more changes) is to take the train from the airport railway station to the station Amsterdam Zuid WTC. You buy a train ticket for that part, selecting the Zuid WTC station from the list at the ticket machine (see above). For the rest of the trip you will need a "strippenkaart" (public transport ticket). From Amsterdam Zuid WTC take metro 51 (direction Centraal Station) and get out at Amstel Railway Station. From Amstel Station take the city bus number 40 in the direction Muiderpoort Station. Get off at the gate at Sciencepark 105. * From the Muiderpoort Railway Station: Take the citybus number 40 in the direction Amstel Station. Get off at the gate at Sciencepark 105. * From the Central Railway Station: Take any metro line to the Amstel Railway Station and take bus 40. Or, take tram 9, get out at the stop Kruislaan and take bus 40 or walk about 15 minutes. * Taxi from the airport: The taxi ride is appoximately 45 euros for a 20 minute ride. Make sure you only take taxis from the official taxi stands.
