Supporting innovation in Europe for the benefits of SMEs: the EUHubs4data experience
- Ilaria Fava
- Andrea Manzi (EGI.eu)
Description
Most of Europe’s SMEs lag in data-driven innovation. To tackle this problem, the EU-funded EUHubs4Data project has started building a European federation of Data Innovation Hubs based on existing critical players in this area. To this end, it connects with data incubators and platforms, SME networks, AI communities, skills and training organisations and open data repositories.
This session will showcase the engagement with European startups and SMEs with practical examples thanks to the project’s experiments, showing that solving real-world problems with cross-border DIH collaboration is possible. Participants could hear about the challenges and solutions from both the experiments and the DIH side and learn about the third open call for experiments that EUHubs4Data will launch in early September. Also, there will be the chance to discuss the implications of the Data Governance Act for DIHs and research infrastructures from the perspective of the Federation.
- 11:30-11:50 Introduction on EUH4D, the experiments and the 3rd open call, Daniel Alonso (ITI)
- 11:50-12 EUH4D Federated catalogue implementation, Andrea Manzi (EGI)
