This workshop addresses the problem of the lack of a common service registry enabling controlled service registration and service/resource discovery across heterogeneous infrastructures - deploying ARC, gLite, GLOBUS, UNICORE - and offering virtualized services.
The lack of this service affects user applications as well as operational tools.
During the workshop current and new use cases will be discussed.
Purpose of the workshop is to define a common medium and long terms strategy across EGI, EMI and IGE. VRCs are invited to present the current usage of the Information System features (currently top-BDII) and to present requirements and information about new use cases. The workshow offers is a chance to present use cases to the developers, and to get insight into new use cases that could be supported by the EMI/IGE new developments.
