Wider Impact of this Work
This proposal intends to organize a training session or tutorial in the next EGI Technical Forum where administrators and developers of science gateways will be able to learn the technical basis of gUSE/WS-PGRADE. SCI-BUS is a project with 15 partners, 6 subcontractors and 4 associated partners that are developing their own gateways: they are part of the target audience expected in the session as well as several participants around other Science Gateway projects or gUSE/WS-PGRADE technology.
The tutorial will be organized as an extension of other training activities carried out by the project as the Code Camp 2012 or the Summer School 2013 (http://www.sci-bus.eu/tutorials). Attendees are expected to learn about the gUSE/WS-PGRADE technology and they will be able keep in touch with the main technical team of the project.
Description of Work
Science Gateways were created as promising tools to help scientists engage with e-infrastructures. SCI-BUS (SCIentific gateway Based User Support) is an European project that aims to ease the life of e-Scientists by creating a new gateway customisation methodology based on the generic-purpose gUSE/WS-PGRADE portal family.
The goal of SCI-BUS project is to create and further develop a generic-purpose gateway technology that provides seamless access to major computing, data and networking infrastructures and services and to provide support for users and gateway developers and administrators in the new communities to build, operate and use their own customised gateways.
A preliminary agenda is based in the following topics, expecting to be organized as a half day session:
End-user gateway creation
Initialization of gUSE/WS-PGRADE using wizard
DCI Bridge configuration
CloudBroker integration
New developments in gUSE/WS-PGRADE
Robot certificates
The tutorial will be organized as an extension of other training activities carried out by the project as the Code Camp 2012 or the Summer School 2013 (http://www.sci-bus.eu/tutorials). Attendees are expected to learn about the gUSE/WS-PGRADE technology and they will be able keep in touch with the main technical team of the project.
