Description
Small and medium scientific communities acquire more and more data and
the availability of e-Infrastructures for managing and analysing these
data is essential for providing new scientific results in a timely
manner. To address these needs, the french NGI France Grilles, which
operates the national production grid infrastructure, has started two
projects in 2013: FG-iRODS and FG-Cloud. They aim at federating
distributed storage and computing resources. These initiatives became a reality and France Grilles, in addition to the already existing grid and DIRAC service, is offering now two new services to the
french scientific community:
* A federated and distributed storage infrastructure based on iRODS
* A federated IaaS Cloud
In this contribution, an overview of each project will be given,
including the technical infrastructure, the roadmap and the coming
developments. Use case of these services will also be presented.
