Exhibitors

The following Exhibitors will have a booth at EGI-CF

EGI
EGI is a federation of over 350 resource centres and coordinated by EGI.eu, a not-for-profit foundation created to manage the infrastructure on behalf of its participants. http://www.egi.eu/
The EGI booth will host demonstrations throughout the week. Check the Demonstration Schedule.

RICH
RICH 2020, the European Network of National Contact Points (NCPs) for Research Infrastructures in Horizon 2020, facilitates transnational cooperation between NCPs, promotes the effective implementation of the RI programme, supports transnational and virtual access to RIs and highlights the opportunities offered by Research Infrastructures - at the European and international level. By spreading awareness, giving specialist advice, and providing on-the-ground guidance, NCPs ensure that the RI programme becomes known and readily accessible to all potential applicants, irrespective of sector or discipline.

PLGrid

PLGrid NG project: New generation domain-specific services in the PL-Grid Infrastructure for Polish Science

Polish Computational Infrastructure (PL-Grid) is a basic computing environment for researchers from many disciplines. Aside from large computational resources, and a wide range of licensed software, users have access to various IT tools and services − general and specific, adapted for groups of scientists representing various fields of knowledge.
Domain-specific services are a unique initiative that enables to combine experts’ knowledge with software engineering and technical support. Such a combination allows for the most efficient use of PL-Grid infrastructure by its users.
The aim of the PLGrid NG project is to provide domain-specific, dedicated computing services for 14 groups of researchers from different disciplines − identified as a priority in the National Research Program − and to implement these services in the PL-Grid national computing infrastructure.
More information: www.plgrid.pl/en

The PLGrid NG project has been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Innovative Economy program, including the special purpose grant from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

France-Grilles
In France, the National Grid Initiative takes the shape of a Scientific Interest Group gathering 8 major research organisations. Operated by CNRS Grid and Cloud Institute, France Grilles oversees the deployment of production grids integrating at a national level distributed computing and storage resources for high throughput data analysis in multiple scientific fields. Identified among the Very Large Research Infrastructures by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, France Grilles focuses on responding to the exponentially growing needs of many scientific disciplines for IT resources. France Grilles builds on regional grids for supporting its users and reaching out to all scientific communities. It also coordinates French contribution to the European Grid Initiative.

ReCaS
ReCaS is a big infrastructure of distributed computing realized, in the South of Italy (at Naples, Bari, Cosenza and Catania), thanks to the funding of the homonymous project received by the Italian Ministry of Research. Its primary aim is providing computing and storage resources not only to researchers but also to citizen and industries.
The big amount of resources (up to 22000 cores, 11 PByte of storage and a network interconnection up to 20Gbps) is successfully used by many high energy physics experiments (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS, LHCB, BELLE2) and by other applications in the fields of Biology and Medicine, Engineering and Seismology, Cultural Heritage and Environment. www.pon-Recas.it

PRISMA
The Open Source Platform for management of layer IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
PRISMA is the ideal solution for efficient, flexible, scalable and robust management of the hardware resources of a Data Center, highly innovative compared to other commercial solutions. The extensive and rigorous use of cloud open source components, available in the world community, and the integration of modules, specifically developed by the partners of PRISMA, allow the federated use of heterogeneous solutions and the availability of innovative support tools capable of facilitating the development and activation of useful services to the various sectors of Public Administration.
PRISMA is a Platform-type as a Service (PaaS) platform, aimed for Public Administration.
It provides to the developers of applications and, especially to SMEs, the possibility to choose the necessary components (Operating System, Application Server, Libraries for installation and configuration of databases or applications and even libraries that provide scripting languages like Python or Java), both for the development of its application and the creation of a production environment to activate with a few clicks the services needed by the Public Administration.
The wide global spread of open source solutions chosen as a starting point (OpenStack and Cloudify) and the wide availability of developers are the guarantee for the sustainability of the PRISMA platform and its continuous updating to the latest technology.
Thanks to Research and Development activities carried out by the industrial partners and the intensive training provided by the partner universities, PRISMA is expanding more and more their technical competencies on all the national territory. The platform has advanced tools, security and privacy models available today on the market and primarily accorded with the Italian legislation on the processing of information. The federated with the platform Data Centers, can be easily classified and certified according to national standards UNI EN ISO 9001 – ISO/IEC 27001 and ensure security, audit and access to data and applications.
PRISMA seeks the implementation of a process of aggregation with other public and private organizations that represent, each in its own field, the national references of excellence in ICT and are involved in other PONREC or national innovation projects in the areas of e-Government, e-Health and e-Seismic. This objective aims to enrich the capabilities of IaaS and PaaS open source cloud platforms with targeted solutions for the PA and make available innovative application services reusable by the Public Administration. A target that triggers a virtuous process of rationalization of costs of the PA and the start of an open market for digital applications.

INFN
The National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) is the Italian research agency dedicated to the study of the fundamental constituents of matter and the laws that govern them, under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR). It conducts theoretical and experimental research in the fields of subnuclear, nuclear and astroparticle physics.
IINFN has implemented big data, high performance computing and high performance national network e-infrastructures to support major research and academic communities. In particular:
- operates a distributed HTC (grid) infrastructure which is part of wLCG and EGI infrastructures
- it carries out various activities related to the development, adoption and deployment of Cloud services  at regional (e.g. the multidisciplinary cloud infrastructures in Padova and Torino), national (e.g. the INFN Corporate Cloud; PRISMA and Open City Platform projects) and international levels (EGI-engage and INDIGO-DataCloud projects)
- it supports the computing and data needs of various physics experiments (e.g. the LHC experiments)
- it supports the computing and data needs of different scientific communities (e.g. Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, structural Biology, Humanities)
- it is involved in projects related to HPC and low power computing.
