Speaker

Impact

Reassurance that the work on new types of resource accounting meets the requirements of the user communities. Additional requirements for future work.

Overview (For the conference guide)

Come and find out about new types of accounting being proposed/developed in the EGI ecosystem. Do they meet your needs? Do you have other requirements on these or other types of accounting?

Conclusions

Work on storage and virtualisation has firm foundations but the work on applications and economic models would benefit from exposure to user communities.

Description of the Work

Multiple teams in EGI-Inspire(JRA1), EMI, and elsewhere are working on accounting new types of resource in addition to the long-standing cpu accounting. To date there has been work on accounting for storage, parallel jobs, applications, and virtual machines. This sessions aims to report progress on this work to the user communities, to gain sign-off of the known requirements and possible new requirements.
