Impact

The EGCF informs the community about European and international developments in the wider context of Globus software and services, it arranges and coordinates meetings and workshops for users, developers, and administrators, and it connects projects and communities within Europe and beyond for exchanging knowledge and sharing experience with Globus software.
The EGCF provides a number of services such as a discussion board and regular magazines.

Conclusions

EGCF provides useful services for European Globus users and is currently supported by IGE.
It is intended to be longer-lasting than IGE and will focus on providing information and services "from the European Globus community for the European Globus community".

Overview (For the conference guide)

This talk will provide a brief overview of the European Globus Community Forum (EGCF). The EGCF is the organizational body of the Globus community in Europe.
Its goal is to boost an integrated approach to collaboration on Globus development and to provide an organizational platform to foster cooperation within Europe and beyond. Its members are users, administrators, and developers, who are applying the Globus Toolkit as their middleware or are interested in doing so.
The presentation will focus on aims and services associated with EGCF. The EGCF will be one of the sustainabilities of the Initiative for Globus in Europe (IGE) project.
